Editorial policy

Our pages are written for general education. Bylines credit the Averainsure Editorial Team. We do not invent professional licenses, designations, or years of claims-handling experience.

When a topic is state-specific or statutory, we start with primary sources: state insurance department consumer pages, National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) consumer materials, federal health coverage publications, and the policy forms people actually receive. Secondary explainers are used only for orientation — not as proof of a statistic we do not show.

Insurance rules change. Articles include “updated” dates. An update means we reviewed the page for clarity and obvious stale statements; it is not a promise that every sentence reflects the newest regulation in every state. Readers should verify information with insurers, regulators, and current plan or policy documents.

Calculators are documented on each tool page. Coefficients are educational placeholders. We will not present them as “average U.S. premiums” or as a particular company’s rates.

Corrections: email editorial@averainsure.com with the page URL, the wording you believe is wrong, and a source. We review material errors. We do not accept paid rankings or advertorials disguised as guides.
